1. About these terms
These Terms & Conditions apply to Cohort, also called Cohort Labs, at cohortlabs.app and its subdomains. Cohort is independently operated. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean the operator of Cohort, reachable at irshatharis@gmail.com.
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you use Cohort for a business, you must have authority to do so. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. What Cohort provides
Cohort provides tools for independent teachers and organisers to publish live programmes, manage dates and seats, collect registrations and record payments. Programmes may include courses, workshops, retreats and events. Cohort is a software provider. The organiser is responsible for delivering their programme and for the accuracy of its description.
The service is under active development. Features may change, and some features may be unavailable. No particular enrolment, revenue or teaching outcome is guaranteed.
3. Your account
You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter into an agreement to create an organiser account. Provide accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity through your account and for keeping a copy of content and records you need.
4. Your programmes and responsibilities
Organisers are responsible for their programmes, pricing, schedules, venues, qualifications, safety, taxes and any licences or insurance they need. Clearly tell students the payment, cancellation and refund rules before they register. You must have a lawful basis to collect student information and must use it only for appropriate, disclosed purposes.
Students enter into an arrangement with the organiser for the programme. Questions about attendance, suitability, changes, cancellations or refunds should first go to that organiser. Cohort does not provide teaching, medical advice, travel services or professional certification.
5. Payments, fees and refunds
Programme payments are made using the organiser’s payment instructions or an available third-party service. Cohort does not hold student funds or act as the seller of a programme. A reported payment is not proof that funds arrived; the organiser must verify receipt before confirming it.
Organisers handle programme refunds through the payment method used. Recording a refund in Cohort does not transfer money. Payment providers may apply their own terms and fees. Any fee for using Cohort will be disclosed before you agree to pay it. These terms do not create an undisclosed subscription or platform charge.
6. Your content and acceptable use
You retain ownership of content you submit. You give us permission to host, store, display and process it as needed to operate the service. You must have the rights to publish it.
Do not use Cohort for unlawful or misleading programmes, infringement, harassment, spam, or collecting information without permission. Do not attempt to access another organiser’s data, interfere with the service, evade security controls or upload malicious content. We may remove content or restrict access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, legal obligations or security risks.
7. Privacy and other services
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. Organisers have their own responsibilities for student data they collect through Cohort. Third-party services, including Google sign-in and external payment services when used, have their own terms and privacy policies.
8. Ending your use
You may stop using Cohort at any time. To request account closure or a copy of your information, email irshatharis@gmail.com from your account email. We may suspend or end access for a serious breach of these terms, a security risk, a legal requirement or discontinuation of the service. Where practical, we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to retrieve your information. Records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Availability and liability
We use reasonable care to operate Cohort, but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free service. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without additional warranties, and we are not responsible for indirect losses, lost profits, or disputes and losses caused by an organiser’s programme or an external service.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that applicable law does not allow to be excluded, including liability for fraud or other non-excludable conduct.
10. Changes, questions and disputes
We may update these terms as the service develops. The updated version will appear here with a revised date. We will give reasonable notice of material changes through the service or by email where practical. Changes apply prospectively. If you do not accept them, stop using the service.
Please contact irshatharis@gmail.com first so we can try to resolve any concern. Applicable mandatory laws and any rights you have to bring a claim in your local courts remain unaffected.
